The Zillertal presents itself as a top destination in the heart of the Alps. With more than 4.5 million overnight stays in winter, the Tyrolean region is Austria's leading holiday destination. Surrounded by numerous three-thousand-meter peaks, the wide and thus sunny valley stretches over 47 km and rises only slightly. The valley has its name from the river Ziller, the valley runs out and flows into the Inn.

Skiing experience, countless heights and pure pleasure

508 kilometres of perfectly prepared ski slopes offer a variety of fantastic downhill runs for every taste and fitness level, ranging from wide pistes with leisurely gradients to demanding routes that push even experienced skiers to their limits. The Zillertal Superskipass is an all-in-one ticket which connects 179 ski lifts.The size of the ski areas and the abundance of possibilities is the great plus of the Zillertal. They usually begin at around 2,000 meters and go up to 3,250 meters, a snow guarantee for the entire winter season and the whole family, as the beginners 'and children' s area are located at the high - lying mountain stations. This is not enough: great fun parks, permanent racing and speed trails, easy-to-reach free ride areas and ski kindergartens, as well as numerous ski huts, the right place for everyone.

Hiking holiday in the holiday region

The Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region offers its summer guests alpine landscapes, unique flora and fauna, as well as traditional and modern mountain huts for welcome breaks and refreshments. Up to three guided walks are available daily in these 379 km2 of protected landscapes and always include a pleasant stop at one of the Zillertal mountain refuge huts or an ascent of one of the many three thousand metre high peaks. Multi-day tours make the heart of every alpine enthusiast beat a little faster and include the Berlin High Trail, a circumnavigation of the western Zillertal Alps on the Peter Habeler Route, or a daylong hike along the Neumarkter Route. Pleasure hikers should take the cable car to Leisure Mount Ahorn, where they can enjoy the magnificent Alpine panorama.

An 800-kilometre network of cycle paths and 20 designated bike tours, with fabulous views, pleasant huts serving welcome refreshments and service stations for wobbly wheels. Cycling enthusiasts will find all that and more in the biking heaven over Mayrhofen and Hippach. Whether an easy pleasure tour with a cable car facilitated ascent, or a challenging all day tour whilst surmounting countless metres in altitude - untouched natural landscapes are literally ready and waiting to be discovered by you - until your thighs burn, brakes glow and eyes light up with excitement.
